Meet Dr. Scherer

Dr. Scherer was born in Bellevue, Ohio and graduated from Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 1974. He served in the United States Air Force as a dentist; rank of Captain; stationed at Kincheloe Air Force Base in Northern Michigan. Dr. Scherer’s wife Mary is a dental hygienist in the family practice and also graduated from Ohio State University.

Together they have four children; Kara who graduated from Detroit Mercy College of Dentistry in 2003, Lindsay who graduated in 2003 from Marquette University School of Dentistry in Milwaukee, WI, John Ross who graduated in May 2007 from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentisry in Rochester New York.  John Ross is in his second year of Medical Residency in Internal Medicine at Northwestern Hospital-McGaw Medical Center in downtown Chicago.  Ashleigh who is a 2007 graduate of the Universtiy of Detroit Mercy College of Dentistry's dental hygiene program and has a degree in Health Fitness & Rehabilitation graduated from Central Michigan University in August 2004. Ashleigh is currently practicing in our dental practice.

Dr. Kara Lembo (Scherer) has her own dental practice at 52835 Hayes Rd., Shelby Twp., MI 48315. Dr. Lindsay S. Montgomery (Scherer) after serving a one year Navy Dental Residency and will be completing five years as a Navy dentist in July 2008 will be practicing dentistry in Charlotte North Carolina.

Dr. Scherer has been a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Dental Association since 1974. He is also a charter member of the Academy of Functional Orthodontics, and a Participating Member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
